About A.C.T.
Artists are often stereotyped as impractical and unreliable. We were first introduced to A.C.T. through a workshop at Missionfest 2014 by Patty Kingsley, their Ontario director. Patty herself is a visual artist with a passion to reach her community. Not long after, Patty connected us to their president Byron Spradlin who flew from Nashville to meet with us. Byron is a pastor and trained musician who started out serving under a campus ministry now called Power to Change in University of California. His vision for ACT is to mobilize ministry-hearted artists, musicians and creatives for service around the world. After working with ACT for over a year, we are thankful that we now have counselors/partners with decades of experience reaching out through visual, performing arts as well as music An important truth we are learning is not to judge anyone based on our limited experience but to get to know them as individuals.
As a sending organization, ACT had already established a system for handling the donation, finances and tax requirements for not for profit ministries. This allows us to focus our energy on ministry instead of spending extensive time learning and handling donor finance and taxes. The remaining funds from our TEAM account are smoothly transferred to ACT last year. These funds had kept us through these difficult transition years when we had to cover the living, travel and ministry expenses on the field as well as here in Canada. It is quite an adjustment compared to the years when we were both working and we can pay our bills with extra for savings. We are thankful that Jireh continued to provide for us through the generous help of our church partners, friends and family in various forms.
If you were blessed to support us with our ministry on the field and on the homefront, please give through ACT for tax-deductible donation receipts. For those who prefer to donate online, that can be done efficiently through Canada Helps and the ACT Canada site.
